The Lladro company was officially founded in 1953 by three Lladro brothers, Juan, José and Vicente near Valencia in Spain. However, the first Lladro porcelain figurines weren’t actually produced until 1954 and their first retail store didn’t actually open until 1955. At that time there were only a few pieces being sold in their store.
Still going strong today, the Lladro porcelain figurine’s have become an icon among fine porcelain collectors.
