Montblanc Opens Two-Story Boutique In Paris – News

Luxury brand Montblanc has concluded the celebratory inaugural events for a grand new flagship boutique on Rue de la Paix, in the heart of Paris’s opulent shopping district. Standing two storeys and covering some 500-square meters of space, the store is among the largest of its kind in the world, and effectively conveys the prestige of Montblanc as a renowned house of exceptional writing instruments, fine timepieces, and high jewelry. It is the fourth of Montblanc’s exclusive stores in Paris, and represents a new crown jewel in the brand’s constellation of European boutiques.

This is an interesting marriage between a horse racing event, and a watch based on a historic measuring device that was designed to measure horse racing times. It is one of the few times I have actually seen a watch fit so well with the event that the manufacturer is sponsoring. This year Montblanc watches will be the promotional partner for the 26th Breeder’s Cup World Championship horse racing event. A highly regarded racing event noteworthy for the class of riders as well as the impressive thoroughbred horses that participate.

UNICEF – Policy advocacy and partnerships for children’s rights – Montblanc pledges 1.5 million dollars for education programmes

Montblanc to Auction Celeb Portraits for Charity

Montblanc, makers of fine pens with the famed "snow cap" motif (above), will auction off a series of celebrity portraits to benefit UNICEF in September. On Friday, May 8, they’re hosting a benefit at Sotheby’s in New York to announce the World Exhibition Tour of the photo project honoring the involvement of 12 great actresses and their efforts to "support UNICEF’s fight against inadequate education and illiteracy".

Stars of the show – THERE was something for both men and women from Montblanc at the recent SIHH in Geneva.
Jean-Marc Pontroue, executive vice president of product strategies and development at Montblanc International GMBH, says that 2009 is the “Year of the Icons” for the brand.
“Montblanc has come a long way and what is important is the Montblanc diamond (the star logo). That’s our platform of creativity, it’s on all our collections,’’ he says.

Keeping the ever-present link between celebrities and charity alive, stars like Reese Witherspoon, Sienna Miller, and Eva Longoria were spotted at the Montblanc Signature For Good charity event in Hollywood, California last night (February 20).
Miss Witherspoon (who could be getting engaged to Jake Gyllenhaal soon) looked absolutely fabulous in a strapless black frilly dress with matching peep-toe heels.
Meanwhile Sienna Miller also went the strapless route with her iridescent red gown, and Eva Longoria sported a notched-neckline brown floor-length dress.
