Montblanc banks on its iconic models – Collection – Passion – Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie
If 2008 was a vital exercise for Montblanc in establishing the brand’s credibility in the Fine Watch segment, the coming twelve months will be devoted to confirming its status with new and exceptional models. In five short years, the brand has already imposed its style with the Rieussec and Villeret ranges.
“Fine Watchmaking makes for a beautiful story at our brand,” says Hamdi Chatti, Managing Director for Watches and Jewellery at Montblanc, at the SIHH 2009. “At first we strove to develop products that would form an instinctive bridge with writing, a theme we quite naturally named “writing time.” We then had the good fortune to meet a collector who showed and later sold us an original Nicolas Rieussec piece. This was an epiphany for us. The year was 2003.

From that point on, we worked relentlessly to create a timepiece that would pay tribute to the inventor of the chronograph. This was really where the development of our proprietary movement began, in perfect correlation with our leitmotiv of uniting writing and the measurement of time.” Click the link below to read the full article....

Marking Minerva’s 150th anniversary, Montblanc presents the Grand Tourbillon Heures Mystérieuses from the Montblanc Collection Villeret 1858
Special events deserve suitable recognition. In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the manufacture Minerva and the inauguration of its renovated headquarters in Villeret, Montblanc announces the presentation of the new Grand Tourbillon Heures Mystérieuses from the Montblanc Collection Villeret 1858.
The name alone will be an indication to watch connoisseurs of what can be expected of this jubilee model and spark their curiosity as to what else there is to come.
The Grand Tourbillon Heures Mystérieuses timepieces in the Montblanc Collection Villeret 1858 will be available in even more limited editions than previous models : to be precise, unique versions in platinum and editions of eight in either 18K white or rose gold.
The tourbillon appears at 12 o’clock in a large, drop-size case and comes with a tourbillon bridge in the shape of a horizontal eight, which is a symbol of infinity. In the lower half of the dial, is an equally large time display with a mysterious dial with hovering hour and minute hands. The watch is yet another demonstration of the expertise, innovative drive and imagination of master watchmakers; qualities that Montblanc will continue to preserve and cultivate through the Institut Minerva de Recherche en Haute Horlogerie.
